‘Magnum P.I.’: Zachary Knighton To Play Rick In CBS Reboot Pilot

Co-written by Lenkov and Eric Guggenheim and directed by Justin Lin, the reboot of the classic 1980s Tom Selleck series follows Thomas Magnum (Hernandez), a decorated ex-Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. With help from fellow vets Theodore “TC” Calvin and Orville “Rick” Wright (Knighton), as well as that of disavowed former MI-6 agent Juliet Higgins (Weeks), Magnum takes on the cases no one else will, helping those who have no one else to turn to. – Nellie Andreeva, Deadline Hollywood http://ift.tt/2HDFwau

Netflix will stream the terrible-looking ‘ReBoot’ reboot

ReBoot: The Guardian Code starts off in live-action at a high school where a few teens get thrown together in a secret room, while elsewhere a hooded hacker stereotype plucked from a stock photo cackles gleefully in front of a slew of bargain-bin keyboards and computer parts. It quickly becomes clear that the show follows a sucked-into-the-video-game premise, looking much like a Disney channel series riffing on last fall’s rebooted Jumanji film. – David Lumb, Engadget http://engt.co/2opceof

‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Gets an Honest Trailer — and It’s So Rough the YouTube Comments Are Disabled

Director Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot faced an uphill battle from the beginning, with its trailer the most disliked in YouTube history and the film going on to open to tepid box-office returns (and a $70 million loss for Sony). In a nod to the vitriolic Internet comments the film inspired, Honest Trailers preemptively disabled the comments for this one. – Aaron Couch, The Hollywood Reporter http://ift.tt/2edVOdo
