ESPN Orders NBA-Rookie Documentary Series for New Streaming Service (EXCLUSIVE)

The sports media giant has ordered an untitled documentary series that will follow select members of the NBA’s 2017-18 rookie class as they begin their professional-basketball journeys. Over eight episodes the players will be followed from their preparation for draft night through Summer League competition, training camp, and the regular season. CBS launches 24/7 streaming sports network, CBS Sports HQ

Just as CBSN — the network’s streaming news service — does with its news operation, CBS Sports HQ will complement the network’s over-the-air sports programming. […] Sports television rights are costly, so you won’t be able to watch any live games on CBS Sports HQ. The ad-supported channel, which includes DVR-like playback features, is free to watch. Hulu Says Super Bowl Live-Streaming Outage Was Caused by Program-Extension Glitch

For Hulu, the issue was related to the streaming company’s system for extending live programming past its pre-set endpoint, according to a rep. In the programming schedule, NBC’s Super Bowl LII coverage was set to end at 10 p.m. ET, when the episode for “This Is Us” was supposed to air.
