‘Mozart in the Jungle’ Renewed by Amazon for Season 3

Amazon has renewed “Mozart in the Jungle” for a third season. This morning [Amazon] officially unveiled its lineup of 6 fall 2015 pilots: Western Edge, from Shane Black and Fred Dekker, starring Max Martini, Ryan Kwanten and Yvonne Strahovski; the 1969 newsroom-set Good Girls Revolt, starring Genevieve Angelson, Chris Diamantopoulos and Jim Belushi; Highston, a comedy about a 19-year old (Lewis Pullman) produced by Sacha Baron Cohen and co-starring Mary Lynn Rajskub and Chris Parnell, with Shaquille O’ Neal and Flea playing themselves; Tig Notaro/Diablo Cody/Louis C.K.’s dark comedy One Mississippi; political thriller Patriot co-starring Terry O’Quinn; and Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald bio-series Z starring Christina Ricci, directed by Tim Blake Nelson. – Nellie Andreeva, Deadline Hollywood

Amazon dabbles in original movies with Spike Lee’s ‘Chi-Raq’

“Chi-Raq” is the film’s working title at the moment; the movie was written by Spike Lee and Kevin Willmott, with Lee serving as director. The movie focuses on the problem of violence in Chicago’s inner city, and it will be starring several well known celebrities: Samuel L. Amazon Studios Sets ‘Casanova’ Cast, Names Jean-Pierre Jeunet to Direct

Amazon Studios has cast its yet-untitled original series about Giacomo Casanova, the legendary 18th century lover and spy, and set France’s Jean-Pierre Jeunet (“Amélie,” “The City of Lost Children”) to helm.

Mexico’s Diego Luna (“Y tu mamá también,” “Elysium,” “Milk”) will star as Casanova, with other key cast to include Ben Daniels (“House of Cards,” “Locke”) as Francois-Joachim-Pierre de Bernis and Miranda Richardson (“Harry Potter,” “World Without End”) as the Jeanne Camus de Pontcarré – John Hopewell, Variety

Amazon Tunes Up Second Season Order For ‘Mozart In The Jungle’

Amazon Original Series Mozart in the Jungle will return for a second season that’s set to premiere on Prime Instant Video early next year. Roman Coppola, Jason Schwartzman and Paul Weitz are executive producing the new season of the comedic drama that mixes sex, drugs and classical music.
